"I understand that in a review one must be objective, have a critical panorama far from any personal character, unfortunately I do not think I can meet any of the requirements. In order for you to understand what the work of Alfonso Zetina means to me, I must first tell you a little bit about the protagonist.
Copito was a stray dog that came to ask for food to our home, under his dirty and matted hair we found scars and hazel eyes that were not used to the kindness of the human being. I remember Copito as a sunrise, as that exact moment where you are in complete darkness and you catch a glimpse of the first rays of the sun that surrounds you with an overwhelming warmth that makes you feel alive again. I cannot recall a single moment when his love was not present.
It was very difficult when we had to say goodbye; those are wounds that never heal but you learn to live with them, it comforts me to think of the great moments that we lived as a family and imagine that they are running happily ... The loss of a loved one makes people very demanding and hermetic; unfortunately I acquired a service of cremation that included a tribute to Copito, but it seemed so false that instead of liking it I hated it.
What do all of this have to do with a painting? Simple, the portrait made by Alfonso Zetina was the opposite, I cannot describe in words the feeling that came from my heart when I saw it, but I can assure you that it was the same warmth that my Copito transmitted to me, it shook my soul. Only a great artist would be able to capture on canvas the look of love that Copito had for us. The artwork, like Copito, does not need to speak to make me smile. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for allowing me to see once again, who at some point was my son.
